Full-time position in the Communications Department

The Communications, Legal and Humanitarian Affairs Department of the Regional Delegation in Kuwait is responsible for defining and implementing strategic communications, managing public and media relations, promoting international humanitarian law to governmental and non-governmental entities, armed forces, academic circles, Red Crescent societies, and fostering support for humanitarian issues and for the ICRC’s activities with a wide range of stakeholders.The media analyst will be part of team of highly qualified and motivated specialists in the Communications department of the Regional Delegation in Kuwait.


You are passionate about the humanitarian field and media analysis, and have confirmed knowledge in data science, statistics, media technology; you have an analytical mind-set with strong logic and problem solving abilities, and excellent methodological skills; you are creative, solution and service-oriented, organized, autonomous; you have an excellent knowledge of the media and social media landscape and a confirmed capacity to analyse the political and social environment in the Middle East and beyond; you are able to adapt to varying workloads and to work under pressure with very short deadlines in a constrained technological environment.


Main responsibilities

  • You will identify, collect, monitor, track, synthesize and analyse public information and conversations primarily in relation to the humanitarian situation, the ICRC’s environment, the organization’s visibility, perception and reputation in both traditional and social media, in English and Arabic, with a focus on the GCC countries;

  • You will identify and monitor trends, issues and risks that might have an impact on the ICRC’s humanitarian operations and on its reputation;

  • You will carry out in-depth research into local, regional and pan-Arab sources of information, contribute to the data extraction while ensuring accuracy and performing quality checks;

  • You will explore new data sources and analytical techniques
