Description

recruiting Merchandiser & Buyer Manager

1. To work with the Buyers to achieve sales and margin targets, review progress and take corrective actions as required.
2. To ensure the right merchandise is in the right place at the right time the right quantity.
3. To review and analyse historic sales information and future forecasts to create an annual merchandise plan for the Category.
3. To work with the Buyers to ensure products are available from suppliers in the right quantities and at the right time.
4. To manage supplier performance including product quality, supply accuracy and flexibility.
5. To manage allocation and replenishment to branches.
 
Specific Responsibilities:
Specific Responsibilities and Activities:

Inventory
Within the agreed product areas develop merchandise plans that meet the business targets:
• Analyse sales information and forecasts to produce annual merchandise plans - refine these into short term quarterly and monthly action programs.
• Maintain a monthly review process, identifying areas of performance issue and agreeing resolution actions with relevant colleagues.
• Maintain a performance review process for suppliers covering product quality, supply accuracy and relationship flexibility. Review regularly with suppliers and buyers taking corrective action as necessary.
• Manage (with support from the buyers) stock purchasing, delivery and merchandising within stores.
• Work with buyers to minimise the costs of product deletion and stock work through.
• Work with the finance and IT functions to ensure accurate supply and inventory information is maintained on systems.
Reporting and Analysis
Using the available information from in-house systems:
• Provide a short form weekly inventory report.
• Identify KVI’s (Known Value Items’s) within the category and provide regular (weekly) information on availability for these items.
• Provide a regular review of supplier performance.
Other activities
• Work with finance to resolve supplier accounts issues.
• Work with the Operations team to ensure product supply works effectively.
